How important is staying fit and healthy to you? New research from the Scottish Widows Priorities of Life index has found that Brits – particularly those with little time to spare – neglect their health and fitness knowingly. In fact, nearly half of Brits admit that the time in which they dedicate to keeping fit is far below what it should be.

The good news, however, is that over a third of people are at least aware – and better still, worried – that they are neglecting their health more than any other area of their life, which is often due to other day-to-day activities having to take priority. Statistics collected form the research show that 37% of people don’t have enough time to exercise.

It seems also, though, that many of those who don’t pay the right amount of attention to their health and fitness simply aren’t concerned enough about it. 36% of them admit that they pay little concern to health because it doesn’t worry them, and 23% will only start to introduce health and fitness into their lives if they become seriously ill.
